Our Story
.jpg)
In the fall of 2005, Cecil and Leah Whitton moved to Pearland and launched LifePoint Church in an old church building previously used by Bethany Assembly of God Church. Beginning with only seven people and a dream, God has blessed LifePoint over the years, through our commitment to developing lifelong followers of Jesus Christ and making a positive impact not only in our local community but also worldwide through global missions.
Today, LifePoint Church is a growing community of lifelong followers of Jesus Christ, with a passion to love God and love people! We believe that every soul matters to God and we strive to reach people from across a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and locations. We are proud of the diversity God has brought to LifePoint, as we are all united together as brothers and sisters in Christ!

Our Mission
Our mission is to develop lifelong followers of Jesus Christ, both here and around the world.
In summary: LOVE GOD and LOVE PEOPLE.
Jesus gave two overarching commandments in the Bible:37 And [Jesus] said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” – Matthew 22:37-40

Our Values
WE VALUE PEOPLE
EVERY SOUL MATTERS TO GOD Every soul matters to God, no matter their age or ethnicity, because no one is beyond His love, grace, and redemption. “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” – Luke 19:10
WE VALUE SERVING AND EVANGELISM
EVERYTHING IS BETTER IN TEAMS Everything is better in teams because God designed us to support, strengthen, and accomplish more together than we ever could alone. We serve locally and around the world telling people about Jesus together. “Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” – Romans 12:4-5
WE VALUE THE BIBLE
THE BIBLE IS OUR GUIDEBOOK FOR LIVING The Bible is our guidebook for living, as it is God’s Word, a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, teaching us how to live according to His will and walk in righteousness every day. “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” – Psalm 119:105
WE VALUE SPIRITUAL INTIMACY
WE CONNECT TO GOD THROUGH PRAISE AND WORSHIP We connect to God through praise and worship, valuing spiritual intimacy as the deep, authentic relationship He desires with us, where our hearts align with His truth. “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.” – John 4:23
WE VALUE COMMUNITY
LIFEGROUPS ARE WHERE LIFE HAPPENS AT LIFEPOINT Lifegroups are where life happens, and we value community as a vital part of our faith journey, where we encourage, support, and grow together in love and deeper in God’s Word. “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:24-25
WE VALUE AUTHENTICITY
WE RESOLVE CONFLICT BIBLICALLY Valuing authenticity and resolving conflict biblically means approaching others with honesty, humility, and grace, seeking restoration and unity in obedience to God’s Word. Matthew 18:15 (NIV): “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.”
WE VALUE BUILDING HEALTHY MARRIAGES AND FAMILY
WE MAKE GOD THE FOUNDATION OF OUR MARRIAGES AND FAMILIES. We put a focus on building healthy families and marriages making God the foundation of our homes. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord Joshua 24:15

Our Mission
Our mission is to develop lifelong followers of Jesus Christ, both here and around the world.
We are called to LOVE GOD and LOVE PEOPLE.

Our Beliefs
THE BIBLE IS THE INERRANT WORD OF GOD
We believe the Scriptures of the Bible are the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining how followers of Jesus should live their lives. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. – 2 Timothy 3:16
JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY SON OF GOD, CRUCIFIED, DIED, AND RESURRECTED FOR OUR SALVATION
There is one all powerful God that is the creator of Heaven and Earth. He loved us so much that he sent his Son so we can have a relationship with Him. Jesus Christ is fully God who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, taught truth, died on a cross, and resurrected from the dead. His same healing power is available for us today. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
BY GOD'S GRACE YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN TO HAVE ETERNAL FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. – 2 Corinthians 5:17 25 “For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” – Matthew 16:25 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9
BELIEVERS CAN BE SPIRIT-LED AND SPIRIT FILLED
The baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us power to share the good news of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin. He gives us different gifts so we can build up the church and love others. The gifts of the spirit demonstrated in an orderly way are a beautiful and vital part of the church. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
WE BELIEVE IN BIBLICAL MARRIAGE
Biblical Marriage has only one meaning and is clearly defined in scripture as a covenant, a sacred bond uniting one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union for life, instituted by and publicly entered into before God (Matthew 19:4-6), and that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (I Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4). The covenant is with God and should not be taken lightly or altered to fit personal preferences. Genesis 2:22-24; Ephesians 5:22-33; Mark 10:6-9; Galatians 5:24-25
